Jac N Coetzer
Jac N Coetzer Attorneys (hereinlater referred as “the firm”) was established in 1923 by the late Jacobus Nicolaas Coetzer (known as Oom Kosie), the uncle of our senior director, Mr Jacobus Nicolaas (Nico) Coetzer.
Oom Kosie started the firm on his own without any typists and managed to build up a reputation as a competent attorney with regards to criminal and civil matters. Oom Kosie managed to do this with only a typewriter, a few law books, confidence, integrity and hope for what the future might bring.
Oom Kosie’s son Piet Coetzer served as an attorney at the firm from 1956 until he passed away in 2007. He was a real character as well as a beloved and respected attorney in the district of Hoopstad.
